F/A 18E Flight Simulator
In terms of reality, I would have to say that this is probably the most realistic flight simulator I have taken to the skies with since Falcon 4.0. If reality is what you are looking for, this will not let you down. However, a word of "caution"... It is not until page 59 that you finally find the instructions on how to turn your engines on!!! Yes, that is how intense the instruction booklet is. Another cautionary note is that to take off from the deck of an aircraft carrier takes approximately 12 minutes, as you have to wait for deck crew to guide you and comply with all the "real world" signals and jargon. This is all VERY intense, especially when you have taken a nose dive straight into the ocean immediately on finally getting to take-off for the 15th time!!!If you ever get airborn, you will find a simulator that does precisely what you would expect, especially in hostile territory. It is a tough simulator. Notice I have not yet used the word "game", and that is the last time you will see that word in this review. If you have a decent CPU and graphics card, you can expect good graphics, and also good sound - a full and lively battle zone is created in the audible section of this simulation. However, I have to say that in terms of both graphics, i.e the shear beauty of the rendering of all things visual, I have yet to see any flight simulator better the benchmark standards set by Falcon 4.0. In brief, if you want to know what it is like to fly one of these warplanes for real, buy this by all means; but expect to have to work hard to lean how to fly the thing!!!
