Not as fun as a cardbaord box - but more durable!
My child actually quite likes this toy, unlike the other reviewers. She definitely preferred the cardboard box it came in, but then thats true for any toy you buy (it really is amazing, isnt it? how much kids love cardboard boxes. If only they were a bit more durable, and didnt dissolve into goo after a bit of gummy chewing!) She seems to like Neo3 best when its upside down, sitting on the rotors, when she can look in the mirror, and play with the little roller balls, which are all different colours. When its the "right" side up, it seems to be a bit too free to move around, and it therefore has no purchase on the surface its sitting on, so that as soon as she touches it, it rolls away! The only worry I would have is that she might try to use it to grab on to if she was still a bit unsteady on her feet, and it would slip away from under her (although, mind you, its probably too small for that, so that might not arise). That said, she likes chewing on it, and touching it, looking at all the different colours and spinning the rotors, so it keeps her amused for a while, so its already earned its keep! This toy seems very durable and well put together (it has already been dropped many times from the high chair on to hard tiles, with no ill effects that I can see). Overall, I think this is a good toy. It might be a little expensive, but at least it will last.

Great hopes - sadly dashed
This looked like the perfect developmental toy for my six-month old - lots to do and see, with endless alternative interactions. Sadly this is possibly his least favourite toy, and whenever I try to reintroduce him to it he gives me a very adult withering look as if to say, "OK Mum - but what exactly is it for??" Now hes 17 months weve all but given up and but it on the shelf for any siblings or the NCT neraly new sale! Sorry TOMY!

This one didnt do it for us.
My daugher had been given the Neo1 and Neo2 toys which turned out to be really big hits with her. I couldnt wait to get her the Neo3 when she was old enough - especially as I thought this was the most fun looking one in the range. Unfortunately, my child didnt share the enthusiasm. She hardly ever played with it at all, except maybe to chew the yellow rotors now and then. Its a pity. Shed probably have rated it at 0, but I will give it 2 stars because I still think it looks a lot of fun!
