Good quality and value, and hasnt jumped once
Practical, good value, and fine sound quality. Works exceptionally well in the car, with the cassette-shaped gizmo you put in the car cassette player, and so far has not jumped even once, not even on the bumpiest roads. The whole jumble of wires and leads is easily connected and disconnected, if you want to hide it in the boot or carry it with you ; why buy more CD players than you need ? Apart from the dual use as in-pocket and in-car player, another major point in favour of this newer model is that it can play not only CD-R but also CD-RW discs ; this was the main reason for buying this, since my older Discman is still working fine, although it has always been prone to skip, unlike this newer model. The silly nanny-manufacturer AVLS function which puts an absurdly low ceiling on the volume is easy to switch on and off, and the bass boost is fairly beefy, especially when fed through car stereo or a hi-fi system ; booms a bit on some headphones, but basically the sound is good. Best points ? About as small as portable CD players are likely to get, hasnt jumped or skipped even once so far, whether in the pocket or in the car, and can cope with anything but MP3. No real worst points ; youd have to be fairly ham-fisted and clueless to put on AVLS, shuffle play or bass boost unintentionally, and theres a hold function, anyway, and the lid release, although it isnt a miracle of design, is fine once you get used to it.
