Fuji FinePix A201 Digital Camera.
This a great little camera! I specifically wanted a digital camera for taking close-ups, and Id been looking at models costing around £500. However, the A201 appeared on the market just as I was ready to take the plunge. I know nothing about photography, but found it incredibly easy to set up and use. I seem to get good results in most lighting conditions without changing from the "auto" setting. The speed at which images transfer to the computer was a pleasant surprise too. The instructions say you need a Pentium PC with 64MB RAM, but Ive found the software runs fine on a Celeron with 32MB, although I expect theres some limitation somewhere. My only criticisms are that a carry case and mains adapter are not included, and the latter is very pricey. Also I cant help feeling the camera would be easier to handle if it was a little bigger!

Excellent first digital camera!
Ive had this camera for a few weeks now and my overall feeling about it is that I am very satisfied with it. The picture quality is excellent on the Fine setting and suits my amateur photographic needs perfectly. The upload process is quick and painless through the USB cable. The only con I can identify is the short amount of time the two AA batteries last when using the LCD screen (however if you refrain and use the viewfinder the batteries can last a while). Also I found it very worthwhile using a 64MB SmartMedia card instead of the 16MB one supplied. This allows me to take 82 pictures in the highest setting possible!! Overall this camera is excellent for a beginner like me and good value too.

5 stars!!!!!!(and it deserves it)
This camera is a superb first time buy for any budding photographer, looking for a good introduction into the digital world. I originally bought a very cheap forty pounds digital camera. The photos were of a disappointing quality, you can even see the pixels! After a while it started to malfunction and not download to my PC, so I sent it back to Amazon for a refund. Howver, I was still keen to explore photography. I decided to go for a more expensive option (but still affordable), and the fuji A201 fitted the bill well. Since then I have taken about 500MB of quality photos, and the camera has turned photography into a hobby for me. Several useful accessories to buy include: 1.Carry case 2.Rechargeable battery pack 3.One or two 64MB smartmedia 4.Mini tripod I have also recently bought a CDRW for my PC in order to back up my files. This has been a useful addition. Anyway, my message: buy this camera (you want to!)
