best looking HE51 ive seen!
normally i hate ww2 combat flight sims ..(out side of using them to stooge around the skys, and for add ons etc)
but this game is worth every penny just for the He51 biplane and the Spanish campaign; its now 2004 and even so this windows 95/98 game actually manages to look as good as FS2002 (within reason) ignore all the officail flight sim site reviews of this game.. buy it and find out for yourself, if it was possible to create and use add ons in LC then this would definitely be the only combat flight sim for me..finally a genuine sense of achievement on actually shooting down an enemy aircraft..
lots of niggles of course but theres nothing unique about any of them ..every CFS has exactly the same problems.

Very realistic, challenging and fun.
I saw some negative reviews of Luftwaffe Commander from people in the US, and I couldnt believe what I was reading! (They were probably written by people who couldnt master it.) LC is excellent - good graphics and sound, allowing you to fly 10 different aircraft. The attention to detail is great - e.g. your prop even slows down slightly when you climb, your aircraft jitters about when youre trying to pull out of a high-speed dive, you get blackout, redout, cannon shells are much more destructive than bullets, etc. You can fly a trainer, or make your own scenario by selecting one of the 10 aircraft to fly against up to 6 others, from a list of about 50. Each aircraft really is different - the Spitfire coughs and splutters when you perform a negative g manouever, whereas the fuel-injected 109 doesnt, and the Mustang is as smooth as silk. You can fly a single mission (50 to choooose from), or embark on the campaign as a Luftwaffe pilot, starting in Spain, through France, Britain, the Soviet Union and back to Germany, against B-17s and P-51s. On the campaign, you choose how difficult it is to fly your aircraft, and the opposition pilots range from novices who crash into hillsides (or crash into you!), to aces who you just cant shake off your tail. Ive gone through two complete campaigns and Im now on my third - its very addictive! To sum up -excellent graphics, playability and attention to detail. Highly recommended.
