A Toy Lover
When i saw this toy i couldnt believe it!! My Gran has my one of these from when i was a baby so i couldnt resist to buy it for my nephew for his 1st birthday!! If mine could last nearly 20 years im sure his will aswell!!!

Blocks not without faults, yet loads of fun will be had!
The Fisher-Price Babys First Blocks were very entertaining for my 12-month old child, yet they lacked in certain areas. The multi-colored shapes were excellent in durability, but were a bit too small for a child to stack. The durability of the canister and lid are beyond compare, yet the lid is very easily removed. A bit too easily. When my child tilted the toy on its side, the lid almost fell off. However, He had great fun removing and then replacing the shapes from the canister, and without the lid on he was able to discover other objects that could be placed in the toy as well. In the end,it didnt seem to bother him a bit that the lid would not stay on...he had more fun without it! As for the educational value of babys first blocks, I found that my son started exploring his environment more as he was looking for objects to place in the canister, and he discovered more motor functions by dropping and dumping the shapes. The sides of the sorter have a raised picture which was also incredibly entertaining for him, and the shapes taught him to associate certain colors with coordinatng shapes. He has learned loads from the blocks and has had a jolly time doing it.

Keeps baby entertained
This is a great toy for teaching colours and shapes. It has 15 blocks that the baby puts into a bucket through appropriately shaped holes. My son (and my husband!) loves to dump out the blocks and put them back in. Then he starts again. This keeps him entertained for about 1/2 an hour at a time. If we need to distract him, this toy will keep him busy.
