Low price but top marks for looks and playability.!!!!
Considering this item is low cost, your could be fooled into thinking you get what you pay for. WRONG! This DVD Player and 5.1 home cinema surround sound system is brilliant!! It looks brilliant and plays everything I put in it, including dvds my other player wouldnt play, cds and cd-rws and the kodak picture cd works brilliantly too. I am more than very pleased with this, but apologise to my neighbours for any inconvenience as we listen to cds and dvds with the surround sound on. Couldnt get better than this and at this low price too! Well done Amazon, youve done it again.. Thanks.

You really do get what you pay for...
I received a faulty Yamada home cinema system several months ago from Amazon. The DVD player wouldnt play ANYTHING. I have since returned the item and received a new one, that finally works! You really do get what you pay for with this system. The DVD player is standard and plays everything I put into it. The speakers are on the cheap side and dont provide the best sound. But theyre good for the price. The tricky part is adjusting the DVDs audio settings. The manual provides ZERO help. Its a mystery of options and settings. All in all, not bad for the price. Works well in a small room. Speakers arent powerful enough for a large room.

Great Value
Ive been searching for a DVD home cinema system for a month or so and just couldnt make up my mind-they were all a much of a muchness and around the same price for a basic one, £200.I then noticed the Yamada. For £70 i was a bit scepical. The reletively low wattage on the speakers also made me think twice. But after reading all the positive reviews i thought "what the hell" and ordered one from Amazon. It was with me within 3 days using the free delevery option. The DVD player looks good - an elegant, clean simple front, the sub-woofer with its blue luminious dial was also pleasing on the eye. Even the speakers werent that bad. Setting up was relatively easy, though the manual was of little use. I used a proccess of elimination to select which cables go where. I had it up and running in about half an hour using a scart lead (not supplied or even mentioned in the manuAl.) I was pleasently surprised with the quality of the picture and sound. Though the speakers are only 3.5W i found that i only needed the volume turned up to half to fill my front room with a clear, hiss free sound. The bass is excellent, there is an option to boost the base which i found a bit too basey for my ears. If you want a DVD player but do not know where to start you cant go far wrong with this one. At £70 you can always up grade in a year or two if you feel you do need something with a bit more clout without loosing to much cash.

Sony DAV-S300 Home Cinema System
|
The DAV S300 was impressive two years ago when I bought it, and it continues to produce excellent sound/picture quality. I even find myself using it instead of my sound-system for CDS, mainly for the clarity of the speakers and the power of the SWoofer. However, even when the system was new, I could..

Sony DAV-SA30 Home Cinema System

Having first bought a basic DVD player about two years ago I decided the time had come to move up to a home cinema set up when my hifi expired a few months ago. I was interested in the DAV-SA30 because it would play my CDs and also had a radio tuner. The price was very reasonable too - less than I p..
