Philips 80 Minute CD-R Audio 10 Pack

£ 5.29
Solid, but lacking some flair
These are really some top-notch audio CD-Rs. I had no problems at all writing or playing, even on CD players that could not read, or could not read very well, other audio CDs I had burned. The 80 minutes is as long as you’re going to find, and 10 high quality cds of this length for £7.99 is not a bad deal.

Each CD comes in an individual standard CD case, which is a little excessive for some, but I like it. The CD itself is almost totally white, perfect for writing on. In the case below the CD are some informative, and somewhat amusing, guidelines. Helpful in giving the temperature range, amusing in having a picture telling you not to take a compass to the CD, and another which, though I could be mistaken, looks like it is telling you not to drop tissues on it. I have no problems with these things at all, it is the design of the case, which I feel lacks a certain spark. Rather than the Sony way of going for image (and expense) over anything else, these are certainly aimed at substance over style. Some of you may be perfectly fine with this; I just find the black and red Philips sleeve design a little boring and odd. Not unusual, just odd.

So, there we go, Philips 80 minute CD-Rs in a nutshell (admittedly a rather large one for the product in question, perhaps that of a walnut, or even bigger). Perfect for someone looking for high quality writable audio CDs, but if you would rather more fancy cases; I must recommend the Sony range.

Philips 48x16x48 CDRW Drive

I was looking foreword to installing this Philips PCRW4816K/20 Series 48x16X48X CDRW as I installed a Philips 400 Series 4X4X32X on another computer some years ago. It was probably the easiest internal computer component I have had the pleasure of installing, the instructions were 2nd to none. I opt..

Iomega External CDRW Drive 24x10x40 USB2

This Iomega CD-RW is the second CD-RW ive had in a year, and is by far the best. Very simple to set up and use, burns cds fast, even faster with a usb 2.0 connection, definatley recommended. One of the best external CD-RW out for the price, looks pretty cool too. If you want an external CD-RW buy th..

BenQ CDR Media 80Min 700MB 48x 50Pack Cakebox

My CD rewriter is old and non-BURN proof so I need CDRs upon which I can rely.

The surface of a BENQ disc is great for writing on - with a oil-based felt tip pen - as per the manufacturers instructions. (The special coating of the disc seems to provide some traction for the pen).

Ive used the di..

Lite On 24x10x40 External USB2 CDRW Drive

I purchased this CD-RW and experienced similar problems to everyone else reguarding the installing process. There are indeed no USB 1 drivers on the supplied disk, as mentioned by another reviewing customer. (Thank goodness it wasnt just me!) I was on the verge of sending it back for that very reaso..
