Still the best game
This is one game that I have never got bored of. Start with one or sometimes 2 settlers and start building your empire. There are upto another 6 civilisations to meet and trade with or destroy whichever you prefer.Research allows building new military units or city buildings. Tax income lets you speed these things up or bribe other towns and units that you dont own. Each game starts with a random map so every game is different. Ok so the graphics are not as exciting as some of the newer games but the game itself is still one of the best. I used to play this on an old pc and then it took ages in the final rounds. A fast computer is a must for this as it is a turn based game and each turn can take a while

The best strategy game.... Ever
In this game you get the chance to lead one of a variety of different civilisations into victory. There are two ways to win - either by battle and defeating all other civilisations or by being the first to build a spaceship and start a new colony on another planet. (anyone who has played Alpha Centuri will recognise the new planet!)How to win? Build the biggest cities, strongest troops or use your spies to bribe your way to victory. Anyone who has never played this before will be put off by the size of the instruction manual. It is probably the biggest ever. Dont panic. The tutorial is easy to follow. The game is turn based which does mean towards the end of the game, when you have many units to move, that each turn takes quite a while. A fast computer is needed. Civ 11 Gold is the same as Civ 11 but with extra scenarios available. Dont buy both. Its not worth it. Still one of the best games around
