Nikon COOLPIX 4300 Digital Camera [4MP 3xOptical]

£ 249.99
Superb and easy to use
I recently took the plunge to digital mainly because I was getting sick of carrying round a big (but very good) SLR plus lenses, plus remembering to buy film, plus remembering to keep my processing slips, plus having to wait for a week after holidays to see the results.
I checked out a variety of brands with my work colleagues and after a lot of research, had a "short" list of 6 cameras. I then took the easy option and asked the saleslady at a photographic store which one she would buy from my list. "The Nikon 4300", she said "is the hands down winner in the 4 MP category". What a great recommendation. I am stunned at the quality of output regardless of light conditions, sun position, etc. The scene modes make it all so easy and I havent had a photo yet that hasnt turned out perfectly. Battery life isnt great, but what electronic device has anything better? I bought a spare battery, a second 256MB card, a quick card reader ($12) and it all fits into a small camera bag. Leads, charger, etc. fit into a second small bag.
Downloading is simple and very fast. One of the more intriguing facilities is the panorama programme - simple to set up and the results are so clear with no sign of joins. Really quite stunning.
Overall I would give it a "6" if Amazon would let me.

OK, Im converted
Never. Its not the real thing!! That was my reaction whenever someone asked me if Id tried digital photography. Now I realise I was talking through a certain part of my anatomy normally reserved for other uses!!
I bought a Nikon Coolpix 4300 last year and I must admit to being a bit sceptical at first but the first time I used it (in London) I was GOBSMACKED. The clarity of the pictures was beyond anything I could have produced with my standard SLRs and the zoom---boy What a zoom. I took a picture of the Cutty Sark at Greenwich and the detail was beyond belief --not bad for a picture taken from 1000+ yards anyway.
There is only one problem with this camera -- the shutter release speed is a bit slow, but you cant have everything! What you can have, though, is probably the best compact Digital camera on the market at a cheap(ish) price. OK, Im a convert --I admit it. So much so I havent used my SLRs in ages!
I only have one minor gripe --- the price was reduced about a month after I bought it!
Cest la vie!!

Nikon COOLPIX 4300
Id normally buy such gadgets from Amazon but I picked one up at Jessopsfor £199.99 (sorry Amazon).
The Coolpix 4300 has a superb Nikkor zoom lens, is easy to use and has apicture quality to match far higher priced cameras. Battery life isaverage. The menu system is easy to get to grips with and you will havelots of fun trying out features such as the pre-programmed scenes. Youcan get some quite funky results by using scene settings that areinappropriate... something that other digital cameras cant offer usarty-farty types!
The only bug-bear for me is the awful lag, which can be in excess of asecond dependent on lighting conditions. That said, you always get great, crisp, quality shots. Check your photo in Photoshop at high zoom and Iguarantee you will not find one pixel artefact; reproduction is perfect.Well, its a Nikon isnt it?
At this price, the lag is a small price to pay for having such greatreproduction and a Nikkor lens. However, if you really need instantaneousphoto capture and dont mind a lesser quality zoom lens, go for the CasioZ4 instead.

Nikon En-El3 Rechargeable Batterie For D100

If you rely on a D100 for your paid job, then a second battery should be at the top of your purchase list.

Theres not a lot more you can really say. The D100 will take upwards of 600 shots on a single battery, but if you need to download a lot of images onto your laptop while on a job (for exampl..

The MB-D100 is a beautifully designed adjunct to the Nikon D100 professional digital camera. But at more than £200, its not an impulse buy.

What the MB-D100 offers is four features which will appeal to professionals and to the very, very serious amateur.

First off, the hand grip adds a duplica..

Nikon Wc-E80 Wide Converter 5400/5700

The Coolpix 5400 will not produce satisfactory photographs in flash mode with the Wide Angle Converter lens fitted because the lens blocks the cameras photocell sensor.
The lens also blocks the cameras inbuilt flash giving a shadow.
There is no obvious indication of this problem in the sales l..

Nikon COOLPIX 4300 Digital Camera with Free 128MB CF Card and Leather Case [4MP 3xOptical]

Like me if you are just getting into digital photography, you dont really want to spend too much money. But after seeing the Nikon Coolpix 4300 I happily parted with the extra cash.
