Stylish, tiny, robust and superb picture quality
Brilliant little camera, and I do mean little. Really tiny camera, but feels very robust because of its stylish metal body. Easy to use and takes superb quality pictures. Easy to download pictures with USB cable (supplied). My only critisism is perhaps the slow, "whirring" zoom, but otherwise hard to fault anything. Lots of style, robustness and ease of use together with excellent picture quality and features makes this the best and cheapest 4.0 megapixel camera availible by far. Of course. as with other digital cameras, you must buy a bigger memory stick. Bought a 128MB stick and I can get 202 full quality postcard-sized pictures stored...

Excellent Small 4.0 Mega Pixel Camera
I bought this after comparing many models such as Olympus, Canon, Fiji, Kodak, and Minolta. The quality difference between this and an Olympus C50 (to which I narrowed down my choice) was harldly discernible, the Olypmus C50 had a vast number of manual shooting adjustments which could result in greater creativity. However, the Sony won out on the fact I needed something that would give me excellent pictures 99.9% of the time and I could slip into my pocket. The flash is good and pictures are excellent, and its size is dimunative.

Sony leads the way
Like most people I was overwhelmed with the choice available when it came to choosing a digital camera. I wanted a camera that would compare favourably (in both size & picture quality) with my existing 35mm Olympus compact yet allow me to transfer pictures to my PC quickly and with little or no fuss. After many hours of testing the many different brands and models available I found that the Sony DSC-P9 fitted the bill exactly. The camera is compact yet it takes incredibly detailled shots thanks to its 4.0 mega-pixel resolution while the movie option allows you to shoot MPEG movies, with sound, up to the capacity of the memory stick. In practise I found that I could shoot a number of high quality movies and still have enough memory for the pictures I wanted. The cameras simple menu system allows the novice and the experienced user alike to get the most out of the camera in a clear and intuitive manner. The software supplied installled effortlessy and the pictures were copied to my PC in seconds appearing as a separate drive in windows. On the down side I found that the 16 Mb card supplied although adequate for the occasional user did not have the capacity I wanted and I bought a larger memory stick as backup. Anyone considering extended use should consider purchasing the 128 Mb card, while a spare battery is also a good option. Overall, I am extremely happy with the camera and have no qualms about recommending this product. Sony have once again shown that they are the world leader when it comes to easy to use quality home electronics.
