Does what it says - and easy to install
Delivered within 2 days, installed in about an hour. I have no experience in opening up PCs and messing around inside but I had no problems following the instructions and installing this alongside the existing CD-ROM drive. I had a zip drive which I had to disconnect to get the IDE cable to stretch - but I dont think I will be needing that anymore.There was no software to install for the drive itself, it was up and running as soon as I made the simple changes in the control panel according to the instructions. The Nero software was easy to install, although once installed the user interface is somewhat cryptic and the user documentation is limited to 4 sides of A4. However, I had no problems creating a CD-RW to backup my photographs, creating a couple of Miles Davies CDs from emusic.com, and a copying a CD direct from my exixting drive to the new one. The copy took about 8 minutes for a 63 minute CD - presumably constrained by the read speed on the CD-ROM. In summary, easy to buy, easy to install, easy to use and does the job.

Does The Job
Ive had this about 3 weeks. I was a bit worried about putting in in my pc but it all went pretty well (phew!) Ive used it to copy cd albums and make my own albums from mp3s Ive downloaded. So far all is going well. Ive never had a writer before so I havent really got anything to compare it against, but it does the job very well.

This product does exactly what it says, no complaints there. The only issue is the noise associated with initial spin up. It doenst sound very healthy to say the least (well in comparison with my other cd drive unit!), but it soon shuts up. Very quick and easy to install. Its very cheap so you cant .. 
bought this so i could burn cd+g files but its superb for everything and anything else you want to burn.its burn proof as well,what more could you ask for???.. 
Wow! If you think that DVD players for your PC are a waste of money then think again. The qualitly that you get with this on the PC is great and believe it or not, when you are watching it up on the screen you can see tones more stuff on the screen than you could watching it on a TV. Also, if you bu.. 
I think this is a good buy for people whoo arent willing to fork out to much cash but still want something thatll do the job effectively. If I was to buy a cd rw drive it would probably be this one... 
When i got HP CD Writer i didnt see what the ponit of it was. But now i use it every day for downloading music on to cds. Apart from the great speed of HP CD Writer it has a 700 MB capacity.So if you want to start downloading music from the net or want to get some info to work then buy HP CD Writer ..
