Flowers in the attic
This book is excellent and I agreee with a previous review that the film doesnt do it justice. It is a book that will have you at the edge of your seat and sat up for hours good bye to early nights. By the end of the book you feel the experiences of cathy, chris, corey and carrie and the strong family bond that they developed and the hate that greed produces to the point of murdering your own children for inheritance. the next books Petals on the wind,If there be thorns and seeds of yesterday will have you just as hooked. The most heart wrenching thought is that this book is based on a true story. Disappointing
when i heard that a film had been made of the book by v.c andrews floweres in the attic i was really lookin forward to seeing it and when i finally did get the chance to sit down and watch it i was very disappointed. the strenghts of the characters in the book was badly portrayed on screen and facts of the book that should have been included as they were vital to the story were either missed out or changed. Not to mention that the actor playing chris looked about 30 and so took away from the realism of him growing into a man while in the attic. although, my friend watched it with me and she had not read the book and so thought that the film was very good so maybe it was the fact that i had higher expectations. my advise to anyone who gets it is if you have read the book you will be dissapointed so dont get your hopes up, however if you havent read the book then maybe youll enjoy it, all a know is that i certainly didnt

A waste of time
This video was a complete let-down compared with the novel. Although I expected some scenes to be modified as is standard with dramatisations, I was not prepared for the entire modification of the ending. The producer brushed over some areas such as the scene between Cathy and Chris in the attic, which could have been to make the film available for a younger audience, however I felt that without this key aspect, you are left without an explanation for later events. The pace in certain areas of the film goes too fast, so there is no build-up of tension as the story progresses. Corrine is also portrayed as semi-evil from the start, which is not in keeping with the text, where she is shown as a loving and much loved mother who only changes later, under the influence of her twisted father and his millions. However, if you are simply looking for a way to pass a couple of hours, there are worse things to do than watch this, but anyone expecting anything half as riveting as the novel, dont waste your time or money.
