Excellent and very inspirational!
This is another excellent book by Jim Faraone. As well as containing more tips on how to make you very own original work of art, it also lists many of todays top doll makeover artists and what inspired them to start making over fashion dolls. Another handy feature are the e-mail addresses in the book, which is great because you can then log on to their sites and view their current work. A great book for anyone who would like to explore the diverse world of the fashion doll (also if your a kid at heart like me!)
Wonderful place to start!
As a novice, I find the book inspiring and informative. Just looking at all the designs by other people and reading about how they got started gets me itching to dig out material for clothes. The instructions on rerooting, repainting, and reposing your doll are concise and well illustrated.
Thats must for collectors/designers!
I am true fan of my good friend Jims both books as Its too good to view every doll creat by gifted artists/collectors; I was one of artists in Jims first book under "LaRicky Originals...." Please look forwarding for Jims new 3th book next year! Keep fun to creat!!! =o)
Turning Wool into a Cottage Industry
A little disappointing! Some good information but too much sheep care (not the subject of this book) and far too much space extolling the virtures of Cottage Industry carders and Patrick Greens other carders. Im not used to having to pay to receive advertising!..

It was a fun, exciting short storybook. We laugh and talked about interesting parts of his life and what he went through to get here. We were studying immigration at the time of our reading. Very good book. I encourage you to read it!!..
