Hassle free recording
The Philips CDR 775 is a great little performer and at an affordable price... There are five recording modes, adequate for just about everything and they are simplicity itself. All you need to do is to get 2 or 3 re-writable audio cds, read the manual properly and practice. After that youll never make a mistake using normal recordable audio cds. Other reviewers have highlighted minor gripes such as the lack of a volume control for the phones socket. These are only minor gripes however and not enough, in my view, to reduce the rating from 5 stars to 4.
Excellent value for money!
As a long time working DJ (27 years +) I still have a lot of hard to get tracks on vinyl. I purchased my recorder to be able to load some of these on to CDs to save having to carry vinyl & turntables around. The machine is very easy to use and the sound quality when played back at high volumes is very good. I agree that the CD trays are a little flimsy but just need to be treated with a little care. My only gripe of an otherwise excellent product is that when recording an album the machine does not recognise the end of tracks to increment the track number automatically. (It does do this when copying CDs from an external source)
5 Star Performer
I have recently purchased one of these machines and have had no problems whatsoever. It is a good looking piece of kit with a nice display. It has all the functions the average person needs. OK the manual is not the best but spend a few hours playing and youll be competent. May I suggest the previous poor reviews were due to the use of poor quality/inferior CDR/CDRWs and possibly being impatient with the instructions.
Sony ECMMS957 Digital Microphone - variable angle
The MS957 is a reliable performer for serious amateur and semi-professional use. It has two settings for stereo sound field width. The narrower (90 degrees) gives good spacial positioning; in the wide setting, peripheral sounds are captured with good definition, but central sounds are sometimes not ..
The FV-120 is a cheap vocal microphone good for a beginner to amplified singing. It has a handy 3 metre long cord and couldnt be more simple to use. One thing that struck me was how light it was, which makes it feel more of a toy than a real microphone. The design is fairly standard, quite dull real..
these are great and if you ike them buy them because the sound is pretty much this same as any leading competator but the creative travel sound speakers are smaller but have the same watt output. The creative travel sound speakers look alot better too ! Cheack them out before buying ! ( btw i am not..
The Archos Jukebox 6000 answers the major criticism levelled at MP3 players, that of storage space. With a 6GB internal hard drive the Jukebox can store around 100hrs of CD-quality music (128kbps). It also has the advantage of doubling as a portable USB hard drive.
When you first open the box it is essential that you charge the unit fully before proceeding with any other tasks. Failure to do so will cause problems, such as the drive locking up your PC. The Jukebox comes with a mains ad..
The Yamaha SW1000XG is no ordinary sound card--manufactured by one of the leading audio equipment companies this is a card designed and made especially for musicians. Lets get things clear: this isnt a card for die-hard gamers. With no game port, no standard 1/8" audio jacks, no fancy surround sound support and not even an audio CD pass through, this card has been created with an entirely different job in mind.
Based around Yamahas MU100 synthesiser this sound module equips you with an arsen..
