BEST FILM OF 2003!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now, before you all get the wrong idea, I decided to go and see this film because I was impressed with what I saw on the trailers and also because there was nothing else on in the cinema! It had NOTHING to do with who was in it! Now that the truth is out, please enjoy my review.

In a year that saw many big budget films, like the two “Matrix” films and “Hulk, fail to meet expectations, many believed that this film wasn’t going to be much better – how wrong they were! The film, while silly, is a fun-filled action fest from start to finish.

The story centres around two childhood friends, blacksmith Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann, the Governor’s daughter, (Keira Knightley) who fall in love as the film progresses. When Elizabeth is kidnapped by the evil pirate Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) and his crew of undead pirates, Will sets out on a quest to rescue her, along with the punch-drunk/camp pirate Captain Jack Sparrow (a fantastic, and might I add VERY cute, Johnny Depp).

But the path (or should I say ocean?) to rescue is not an easy one, as both must overcome Barbossa’s crew of un-dead pirates. Sparrow also wants his ship “The Black Pearl” back, but it carries a curse, that only the blood of Bootstrap Bill Turner’s next-of-kin (Will) can lift. It also appears that Elizabeth has something Barbossa wants – oh, let’s say, Will’s pirate medallion!

When I saw this film, I recognised a lot of elements of it from the “Monkey Island” computer games, so I had no reason NOT to enjoy this, as both are based on the “Pirates of the Caribbean” ride at Disneyland. I also wish I could have been at the US premiere of it, which took place at Disneyworld!

Getting back to the film - it’s a HUGELY entertaining ride (by the way, I’m not talking about the actual ride here!) and the special effects are amazing, especially the un-dead pirates and a certain one involving Captain Jack Sparrow! (those of you who have seen this film will know what scene I’m talking about!). But the best part of all was Johnny Depp’s unusual, but hilarious, performance. In all my years as a film lover, I have NEVER seen a grown-up actor being able to make you laugh continuously for 2 ½ hours straight. but somehow Depp manages to do it, with all his classic one-liners and VERY over-the-top camp-ness (and I mean VERY over-the-top!). I cant wait to see more of his antics in "Pirates Of The Caribbean 2" in 2005!

As I have barely anything left to say and to avoid spoiling the film for you, I just have say “SEE THIS FILM!” You won’t regret it. Savvy???

Drink up, me hearties, yo ho...
I, like the majority of people i know, thought this film would be awful, (its based on a theme park ride for heavens sake) but it had Orlando Bloom in it (Legolas in Lord of the Rings) and so because im slightly wierd i decided to give it a go.
I can honestly say without doubt that this is the funniest film ive seen i na long time.
Johnny Depps character Captain Jack Sparrow, definately gets all the best lines (Welcome to the Caribbean, love) and he bounces brilliantly off Orlando Bloom, who plays the Pirate hating Blacksmith out to rescue the woman he loves, Keira Knightly whos great as the damsel in distress and Geoffry Rush who plays Sparrows arch enemy Captain Barbossa.
There is plenty of sword fighting action. The duel between Depp and Bloom at the beginning sets the tone for the whole film.
There is also plenty of home grown talent in the film (look out for the bloke from the Office who plays the One eyed Pirate and Miles from This Life who plays the Commadore)
Also on the plus side this film is much better than Waterworld (But that wouldnt be hard).
I strongly urge everyone to see this film because its just great. Only when you watch it ask yourself this question; How exactly did Bootstrap Bill manage to drown? Answers on a postcard, please.

2 words to describe this squashbuckling film.- JOHNNY DEPP!!
In this fantastic epic adventure, Johnny Depp stars as Captain Jack Sparrow. I have to say. The film wouldnt have got my approval if the role of Jack Sparrow had been handed out to anyone else!! Johnny plays the part incredibly and no one else would have been able to do it any better. It is just impossible!! I dont know anyone who can steal the audience every scene hes on (or even not on!) Orlando Bloom rocks with his big fluffy hats and whitty remarks. Kiera Knightly though, from innocent "Bend it like Beckham" babe, to young and attractive pirate seeker.
At first I had no intentions on seeing it. I thought it was just going to be another simple pirate movie. But boy was I wrong!! I couldnt have been more wrong in my entire life! The special effects, stunts and the comedy in general will immediately blow you away from beginning to end. It has everything. Comedy, romance, adventure, and a pure good laugh. (Plus some gorgeous looking actors!) If you havent seen, I insist you do. No hang on, I demand you do. Anyone who is crazy enough not to see this fantastic adventure is completely bonkers! I would and will reccomend it to anyone, any time, anywhere! (Mind you after seeing it 4 times might help you be convinsed that it is a film that you will never get tired of)!!!

Kung Pow - Enter The Fist / Dude Wheres My Car / Austin Powers - International Man Of Mystery [1997]

All 3 films are quality, very funny! Kung Pow is a comedically dubbed martial arts flick that all people with a sense of humour would find hilarious. Dude Wheres My Car is another very funny film with memorable characters such as hot chicks and leather wearing muscular men, unmissable, funny from st..

Racing Car Is Born, A - Dragster

Well what can i say. About his 8th series and still going strong. An amzing series consisting of him building a westfield sports car. When he is building he seems to take no time at all.
4 Stars because of the cheesy jokes. Part from that great series that you can keep watching.
Highly recomme..

BTCC Review 2003

Best of a bad job? In a way, yes, in a way, no. This DVD has everything you would expect, but is lacking something, something that isnt immediately obvious but becomes so as you watch it.

The race weekend coverage is good, I wish it could be so much longer, but we cant have it all. Although I cann..

Dude, Wheres My Car? [LBX] [2001] (REGION 1) (NTSC)

An entry into an already rather overcrowded market, Dude, Wheres My Car? is a very dumb but exuberant comedy aimed fairly and squarely at the teen market. An attempt to recreate the classic feel of certain movies from the late 80s and early 90s, it centres around two hopeless individuals (Jesse and Chester) and their efforts to piece together the night before and, more importantly, find Jesses car. The plot--such as it is, takes in many a convoluted turn with the introduction of transsexu..
