Excellent all-round world traveller
If you really want to travel around the world taking lots of pictures with high-quality, then you can get one of these... small enough to travel with and feature-rich with high-quality lenses. You will need to buy a decent MemoryStick though... 128 Mb highly recommended. Superb!
Real gem of digital photograph.
I have used this camera for 3 months now and I am very pleased with both built quality and image quality. Its menu system is easy to operate but the small dinky button is bit fiddly for big hand. Shame that it came with ridiculous 8mb memory stick and no cover. But once you have decent size memory stick then this is real quality product to live with. Sony patented Infolithium battery last hours and tells you battery life in minutes as well. At this price, there should be few rival to match this product.

As a dedicated SLR (Canon) user, I was a bit aprehensive about moving on to digital. No need to worry - this piece of equipment provides all the facilities of a 35mm with the added advantage of instant review of your shots. But you do need a good quality printer to do its capability justice.
