McAfee Internet Security 5 - problems downloading upgrades
Although the original software loaded and setup easily enough from the CD via MS 98 SE and ran OK, after I downloaded a recommended upgrade to the Viruscan programe (7.0+) it would not install itself over the original package despite several attempts and emails to the help desk.The online help desk kept asking for me to fill in a questionaire before I could send a email to them and my phone number I entered on the form kept coming up with a error, so my email could not get through on several occasions. I have now uninstalled the complete package and I am seeking a new one! There is no uninstall programe with edition 5 so I had to manually do it!! To finish, although the original software installed and worked ok, extra work is needed on the auto upgrade system, especially if you use windows 98se

Sick of your PC being hi-jacked? Then buy this!
I was at the end of my tether trying to reap the benifits of broadband while being bombarded with appauling junk. Why pop up creators think they could influence me to buy their product after they have invaded my privacy I dont know.
So, I ordered the software, then...... read the other reviews!
Oooops I thought, looks complicated, dodgy even a bit scary.
Well, I have installed it today and cannot see why I didnt do this ages ago. It is excellent. I am not a dunce when it comes to PCs though Im no whizz either. But I havent even needed the instruction manual yet. The disc also has excellent demos for spam killer and a disc cleaner (which I will be getting). The only reason it didnt get the full five stars is that the odd third party advert gets through, but it has stopped me banging my desk in frustration and thats worth every penny I spent.

A Pest. Not worth the hassle.
McAfee, youve got it all wrong. This software ruins internet use with CONSTANT popups asking you do you want to do this? and do you want to do that? I sought sanctuary from Norton Systemworks when it folded my entire windows setup. Now, when I try to uninstall McAfee it has totally ruined my Network Connectivity. I have about 25 entries in my hardware manager for some Miniport filter and my Network card doesnt work under windows. I am now just about to reinstall the entire system because Ive tried countless ways of fixing the problem. Its time someone brought out a decent firewall package that doesnt need prompting like a docile pet every five minutes.
