A10 CANON POWERSHOT
Love it! Love it! Love it! This camera is superb. From the superb quality of the pictures to the ease with which it is handled. The software that comes with the camera is a joy to use and easy enough for a child or technophobe to master. I normally use Minolta Dynax 7xi cameras and lenses and thought that this would become an obsolete camera that gathered dust in the drawer. Instead it is constantly with the family no matter where we travel. The ability to take as many photos as you want and see the results instantly is wonderful.Have recently purchased a second one of these for my parents and they too are overjoyed with it. Cant recommend this camera highly enough. My recommendation is buy it, love it and have fun.

THE A10 LOVED IT EVEN BEFORE I TURNED IT ON
After lots of searching of reviews, I finally purchased the a10 and was not disappointed, The build and the software that is provided is excellent, their is enough manual control for a complete novice as myself, but generally just use the auto function, great photos for 1.3 mp camera both on screen and on paper. You will definately need rechargable batts. I hammered this camera with a set of four 1700 NI-MH, for over two hours with lcd and flash, and used all the space on 64mb card in various modes and they had not given up the ghost. overall a good camera it is a little expensive for 1.3 mp camera but the results are on a par with A20 2.1 mp version as usual you are paying for a name, however canon have not let us down with this great all rounder. What has impressed me the most with this camera is: great design ease of use good software great pictures for 1.3 mp on a par with the a20 (in my opinion) great battery power with 1700 ni-mh batts

Wheres the catch?
This camera was designed to prove just how easy it is to get high quality photos without any hassle. Whoever designed the control systems and aesthetics of this camera knew what they were doing. Granted, it isnt the lightest, or smallest, or cheapest 1.3MegaPixel camera, but it feels good in your hand, and natural to use (it has a spot-on point and click mode if you want it). Quality of pictures (at top res and quality) is superb, dropping off as youd expect at the lower resolutions, and they really can be printed on photo-paper at 7"x5" without any pixelation! Its probably overkill if you just want to do internet piccies, but it can easily replace a family film-camera (and it is a whole host more resilient to kiddie-play than any other camera Ive had).. The catch - it chews batteries (maybe 50 pictures with flash and LCD display) - it improves if you get REALLY good replacements, but it goes OK on 4 NiMH rechargables (200 pics or so). Oh, and if you are going to use the hi-res, buy a new compactflash card - they are cheap, and can save serious frustration when you get 20-odd pictures in (which is what fits on the 8Meg card supplied) - Amazon have these too!

Canon NB2L Spare NiMH rechargeable battery for PowerShot S- Series
|
Having had my Canon S40 for about 2 years I recently invested in a spare battery. I chose the Canon NB2L and have been very pleased with it. It holds its charge well and is essential if, like me, you tend to forget to charge the battery in the camera on a regular basis. I dont leave home without it ..

Canon EOS D30 SLR Digital Camera [3.3MP 28-105mm Zoom]
|
The Canon EOS D30 is a high-end digital camera that will appeal to professional, semi-professional and serious amateur photographers who need the immediacy of digital photography together with the ability to produce high quality prints up to A3 size. As its name implies, the D30 is based on Canons conventional (film) EOS 30 camera body and it has most of the functions you would expect from a top quality camera. There are also one or two useful extras on the 30s, such as the integrated dioptr..
