| Description |

The Canon PowerShot Pro 90 is a digital camera aimed squarely at the serious photographer with a look and feel to match. Its an improved version of Canons Powersot Pro 70. The most obvious thing that sets it above more basic digital cameras is the impressive lens with its 10x optically stabilised zoom with a 4x digital zoom on top, this means you can reach a whopping 40x zoom. The 3.3 Megapixel CCD is masked down to 2.6 Megapixels to accommodate the zoom optics and this produces images up to 1,856 by 1,392 pixels. The 1.8-inch LCD screen can swivel out and twist so you can position it to suit, including pointing forward. Theres a neat pop-up flash above the lens but this isnt up to more demanding tasks, theres a hot-shoe to take standard flash units. As you would expect the camera has optional manual settings for virtually everything. Between this and fully automatic are a range of priority settings where you manually adjust one setting and the camera automatically sets the rest to match. It boasts a wide range of exposure sensitivity -equivalent to ISO 50 to 400. Shutter speeds range from 8 to 1/1000th of a second, so you can capture under very low light or fast-moving subjects. Rather than a traditional optical viewfinder it uses an electronic one, basically a tiny LCD which can also overlay information of the cameras settings. You also get remote control which operates the shutter, zoom and playback functions. Picture quality lives up to the cameras specifications. Details in shadows are captured well, although this can leave images a little flat. You can adjust these to suit using built-in algorithms. Chromatic aberrations, the bane of many digital cameras, only manifest themselves notably when using the zoom to maximum effect. For those looking for something more sophisticated the Powershot Pro 90 offers everything you need to produce professional results with enough settings to keep the most ardent photographer happy.--Miles Berkeley |

Canon NB2L Spare NiMH rechargeable battery for PowerShot S- Series

Having had my Canon S40 for about 2 years I recently invested in a spare battery. I chose the Canon NB2L and have been very pleased with it. It holds its charge well and is essential if, like me, you tend to forget to charge the battery in the camera on a regular basis. I dont leave home without it ..

As its name implies, the D30 is based on Canons conventional (film) EOS 30 camera body and it has most of the functions you would expect from a top quality camera. There are also one or two useful extras on the 30s, such as the integrated dioptr..
