You can design and print business cards using any desktop publishing program or even a word processor, but a dedicated tool makes it fast, simple and enables non-designers to produce more effective cards. Business Card Factory Deluxe comes with 2,500 editable design templates, 500 fonts and endless images. On the downside, a typical installation requires 300MB of drive space. You are asked to enter your details during installation, which enables the program to automatically insert the correct details on cards. You choose a card design by specifying pre-printed (from various vendors) or plain paper stock. Choose landscape, portrait or folding cards. Next choose a category and sub-category--each of which has several designs you can browse as scrollable thumbnails. The chosen design appears in the workspace with your information in it. Select items by clicking to edit, replace, move or remove them. Check your work in the preview window, save and print it. Its so simple. You can have up to 10 sets of user details on hand as profiles or, if you need more, use the included address book. These features enable you to reprint sets of cards on demand. Advanced features include adding images directly from a scanner (for ID cards perhaps), working with layers, layout grids, custom database fields and fine colour control. All this and a design guide is covered in the manual. Business Card Factory Deluxe is ideal for large families and small businesses or departments with rapidly changing staff.
