| Description |
|
The blonde My Special Baby looks outwardly like a normal doll with pretty flaxen hair, large blue eyes, painted lips and a charming pink and yellow outfit. This cute facade hides a number of sensors and computer chips making it an extraordinary voice-activated toy that can do everything from laughing and crawling to singing, walking and even growing a few centimetres in height. The comprehensive setup and operational instructions need to be followed carefully by an adult, with the child saying the toys name clearly into a small microphone on the dolls chest. There are four stages of development--the newborn baby, the infant baby, the young toddler and the older toddler. Each stage should succeed the other after a certain amount of play, although this can be altered manually. In the early stages the doll mainly giggles, coos or whinges. Then, she crawls, responds "Mummy" to her owners voice and speaks in baby talk ("tirsty" and "hungee"). When shes fully grown, she can say her ABCs, count, name her food, sing "Itsy Bitsy Spider" and other songs and even recognise dates such as her "Mummys" Birthday and Christmas. Animatronics are used to excellent effect for crawling and walking (particularly on hard surfaces), and talking and eating--although some patience is required when feeding as there is a knack to aligning the prongs on the spoons with the sensors in the small mouth. The doll, aimed at children aged four and above, is quite heavy and requires one 9-volt and three cell batteries (not included). She comes with several attractive accessories including feeding equipment, blanket, hairbrush and baby carrier. My Special Baby will capture the attention and hearts of children, who will love looking after her and will feel rewarded when she says "I love you, Mummy". --Tracey Hogan |

The blocks come in a brightly-coloured canister with a shape-sorting lid. The lid is designed to improve hand-eye coordination as babies try to post each shape through the correct hole.
