The Kodak EZ200 Digital Camera combines the features of a Webcam with those of a digital camera. What sets it apart from the majority of other multipurpose Webcams is the quality of image produced. While the resolution is limited to VGA (640x480) the colour balance and sharpness is impressive in both stills and video footage. The camera is styled much like a traditional pocket camera and if you could level one criticism at it, it would be that it looks and feels a bit cheap. The unit can either be mounted on top of your monitor in the stand provided, or detached to take with you, so that you can take pictures on the move and store them on the 4Mb of internal memory, which enables up to 128 pictures to be stored at low resolution. You can also take short bursts of stills or record short videos while the camera is detached. It is simply a case of connecting up the camera via the USB connector when you return to your PC and you can download any images stored to your PC. A nice touch is that this doesnt automatically clear the memory, so if things go wrong the images will still be available. In the box you get everything you need to get started. The camera is accompanied by the Webcam stand, carry strap, USB cable, drivers, ArcSoft PhotoImpression and VideoImpression, plus NetMeeting and four AAA batteries. It is worth noting that the camera takes its power from the USB port when connected, so the batteries are only used when taking pictures on the move. The Kodak EZ200 is simple to set up, takes excellent pictures and provides great quality video streams. |

Kodak EasyShare DX3700 Digital Camera [3.1MP]
|
A fine camera at a fine price. A few niggles though, it does take quite a long time to process the photos between shots and when the digital zoom is used the photos seem to get smaller! Apart from these little problems i enjoy using the camera and the Easydock system makes uploading a breeze...
