Tuscany and Umbria
Cadogan Guides Tuscany, Umbria and the Marches is a good example of these always-reliable guides friendly format. The book acknowledges that the travellers have moved beyond the golden hills of Tuscany west to the Bolgheri and Maremma seasides and east into the regions of equally stunning Umbria and the Marches. Its insider focus on food and wine based on a healthy appreciation of the culture gives it a mix that other guidebooks can miss. The drawback to this approach, when coupled with detailed tours, is its weight. At two lbs it rivals a slim laptop. Of course, when a guide tackles the rich and complicated history of Tuscany--theres even an ancestral chart called "Know Your Medicis"--it is bound to take more than a few words. The briefs on "Getting Around, Where to Eat, Stay a..

Slap Shot: 25th Anniversary Special Edition [WS] (REGION 1) (NTSC)
Paul Newman and his Butch Cassidy director, George Roy Hill, made a very original comedy in this 1977 story of an over-the-hill player/coach (Newman) for a lousy hockey team who gets results when he teaches his players to get dirty. One of the most hilariously profane movies ever to come out of Hollywood, this is the kind of film that makes its own rules as it goes along. Newman is very good, and while Hill goes for the gusto in terms of capturing the violence of this world, his instinct for comedy has never been sharper. Great support from Strother Martin, Paul Dooley, and the rest. --Tom Keogh, Amazon.com ..

Combat Flight Simulator World War 2 Europe Series
Microsofts Combat Flight Simulator: WWII Europe Series does exactly what is says on the box--it lets you fly Second World War aircraft in combat missions. You can elect to fly "quick combat" missions or take part in a variety of campaigns flying for the British, Germans and Americans. You can choose how realistic you want the flight characteristics of the aircraft to be. Crank it up full and too tight a turn will see you spinning to destruction... unless your spin recovery technique is polished. Crank it all the way down and you can concentrate on finding the enemy rather than flying the plane. The individual aircraft are equally well modelled--the Spitfire is light and elegant to fly, the Thunderbolt fast but brutally heavy and so on. A further delight of this flight sim is the det..

New York City Ballet Workout
The New York City Ballet Workout routine was developed by Peter Martins and the New York City Ballet along with the New York Sports Club. If you envy the ballet dancers long, lean body and graceful, elegant movements, then this beautifully produced video is for you. First watch the rippling muscles of four gorgeous ballet dancers (two bare-midriffed women and two bare-chested men) performing the warm-up moves to classical ballet music, while Martins narrates: no ballet technique is taught, so its look-and-follow if you have no previous ballet training. Then get down on a mat for slow lower-body stretches. A difficult abdominal series is next, followed by "floor barre" exercises to tone the thighs and buttocks while still using the abdominals, then moves to strengthen the back and up..
